Red One Ltd is one of the UK’s leading providers of fire and rescue training, providing a wide selection of courses at their state-of-the-art Academy. Services are offered nationwide, as well as providing international and commercial clients with industry accredited standards of fire behaviour and specialist rescue instruction. In addition to training we have commercial contracts with clients and provide the Fire and Rescue Service at the Nuclear New Build (NNB) construction site at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset.
We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Fire and Rescue Technician to join our growing Hinkley Point C Fire and Rescue Service (HPC FRS). The apprenticeship lasts for a period of 18 months and there is an opportunity to progress to the next level apprenticeship on completion.
As part of this role, you will learn a wide range of skills to support fire and rescue services across the construction site. In addition to gaining experience in operational response duties, you will learn to undertake preventative activities, such as tool box talks, how to carry out fire safety inspections, provide advice to other contractors and foster positive working relationships across the construction site with other organisations.
You will be part of a culture where health, safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance. This is a physically demanding role that utilises a range of risk critical operational equipment, so you will be expected to participate in an extensive skills programme designed to ensure that you work towards your operational competence. Working with a team of highly experienced Fire and Rescue Technicians you will gain valuable experience by working with and shadowing them

The successful candidate will be looking to work towards a career fire and rescue, gaining knowledge in specialist rescue, working at height and working in confined spaces.
You will have the ability to work both as a member of a team and under your own initiative. Due to the nature of the role and the training, it is essential that you meet and maintain a high standard of fitness to ensure the role is carried out effectively.
