Area Development Manager, Brsk

Role: Full Time

Location: The role is home based with regular travel to stakeholders based in the Midlands and the South East, quarterly team meetings in Bath, and with some travel across the rest of the UK.

The Company:

Brsk is a UK based, full fibre provider that is rolling out a new 1 gigabit per second broadband network to homes and businesses across the UK.

With an average broadband speed of 64mbps, the UK is ranked amongst the lowest in Europe for its poor internet connectivity. Over the next 5 years, the UK government has set a target to connect a further 20 million homes to full fibre broadband.

We are a start-up team of innovative, agile and driven individuals, looking to scale-up and achieve our ambitious plan to connect a million homes in the UK to our gigabit network.

The Role:

This is a dynamic and impactful new role which provides scope for development and progression in line with the start-up’s ambitious growth strategy. Reporting to the Chief Executive, your key purpose will be to identify new areas for Brsk to roll out its gigabit network and to ensure, enhance and secure community engagement before the network deployment begins.

You will focus on developing and capitalising upon your understanding of the UK telecoms market to enhance your delivery in your role, as well as taking advantage of your strategic vision to assess, identify and prioritise new areas within the UK for the Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) rollout at scale. Whilst remaining mindful of the latest industry insights and trends, you will ensure a commitment to regular competitor analysis within the UK telecoms market, ensuring that we stay ahead of the game, and will expertly conduct feasibility studies and develop well-researched business cases for approval.

On a day-to-day basis, you will use your impeccable communication skills to communicate, engage and build rapport with local communities and community stakeholders. Coupled with your excellent relationship building skills, you will use your creativity and initiative to setup and deliver impactful marketing plans for areas identified, and your strong presentation skills to promote our offering at local council and townhall meetings.

In addition, your proactive approach and agile work ethic will enable you to get stuck in and make an impact on the organisation as required, helping us to move forwards on our exciting journey to achieve our ambition.

The Person:

You are an enthusiastic and energetic individual, who thrives within an agile and innovative start-up environment. A flexible approach enabling you to adapt to and effectively manage change is paramount, together with a drive to get things done and the analytical ability to make informed strategic decisions.

It is important that you have gained significant experience in marketing, commercial or business development roles, as well as a relevant University degree (or equivalent). Similarly, whilst not essential, it would be beneficial to have gained experience within the Telecoms industry to capitalise upon in this role.

Moreover, you will be an independent and proactive worker who enjoys autonomy with, crucially, an ability to work remotely. It will also be essential that you have a full clean UK driving license and a willingness to travel throughout the Midlands and South East, as well as occasionally elsewhere in the UK.

Your interpersonal, presentation, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills are your strengths, and, due to our ambitious nature, it is essential that you have a keen interest in our organisation and are prepared to engage and support in driving forwards its strategy.
