Location: Based in Northam, Devon
Salary: £12 - £15 per hour (dependent on experience)

The Role:

We’re seeking an Assistant Care Home Manager to support the Home Manager with all aspects of the day to day operation of the home in order to provide a safe and caring environment for our residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the delivery of care ensuring that all residents receive excellent standards of medical and personal care at all times. Supporting the Home Manager to ensure adequate staffing levels are in place you will assist with the preparation of rotas and managing staff absence. With significant experience in a similar environment you will practice safe working systems including the assessment of risks, in particular with regards to moving and handling residents, whilst also assisting with the monitoring of resident care plans ensuring records are up to date at all times. With a passion for care, you will act as a first point of contact for relatives and visitors where required, in addition to meeting with health and social care professionals as necessary. Working in conjunction with the Home Manager, you will support with the day to day management of staff including inductions, training, performance management and recruitment.

The Person:

The successful candidate will be experienced within the care sector having previously worked in a supervisory or management role in a similar setting. Qualified to NVQ level 4 or equivalent in Health and Social Care, you will understand the requirements of managing a care home and will have the ability to evidence this. With excellent interpersonal skills you will have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, you will also have good IT skills. With recent similar experience you will understand CQC requirements and be motivated to provide excellent standards of care in addition to maintaining our standards for health and safety compliance. You will be passionate about caring for people and have excellent leadership and management skills in addition to a flexible approach to work. Whilst previous experience in a similar role is essential a background in nursing would be advantageous.
