Salary: £13 per hour and £15 per hour on Saturdays + benefits
Location: Witney, Oxford
Philip Dennis Foodservice is a well-established family business distributing Frozen, Chilled and Ambient goods, as well as Fresh Butchery and Fresh Fish products, to customers throughout Oxfordshire, the Midlands and the South West of England.
We’re seeking a professional and customer-focussed Driver to join our supportive team in Witney, Oxford. Taking responsibility for your assigned route and vehicle, you’ll plan your route, load picked orders effectively and deliver orders from the main depot to multiple drops across the local region. As a regular point of contact for our customers, you will act as an ambassador for the company, developing a good knowledge of our product range and providing an accurate and friendly service whilst building strong working relationships with clients. Valuing safety and efficiency, the daily checks are important to you; from vehicle safety inspections and warehouse tidiness, to checking orders for quality and accuracy. On return, you’ll prepare your vehicle for the next day and ensure all documentation is complete, notifying the relevant departments of any customer feedback, order issues or stock returns to help keep Company records up to date.
As a conscientious team player, you’ll have strong communication skills, a proactive work ethic and experience delivering high standards of customer care. Known as someone who can be relied on, you stick to the rules, proactively report and solve problems and are always happy to help out your colleagues. You approach work in a calm and methodical manner, applying patience and a good sense of perspective in all situations, even when busy. A good level of literacy and a keen eye for detail are also important. We’re looking for an experienced Driver with a full, clean Class 2 UK driving licence, and Driver CPC is essential, with experience driving professionally. You’ll be experienced in planning driving routes, loading orders appropriately and have a good working knowledge of current driving regulations. Ideally you’ll have experience in a previous multi-drop environment, but this isn’t essential.
In return, we offer a competitive salary, pension scheme, 28 days’ holiday per year (including bank holidays) and the opportunity to be part of a friendly and expanding business.
