Night Shift Supervisor (Warehouse)
Role: Full time
Location: Ilfracombe, Devon
Philip Dennis Foodservice is a well-established family business distributing Frozen, Chilled and Ambient goods, as well as Fresh Butchery and Fresh Fish products, to customers throughout Oxfordshire, the Midlands and the South West of England.
We’re seeking to recruit a professional and dependable Night Shift Supervisor to cover our frozen, ambient and chilled warehouse divisions. Overseeing the efficiency of our warehouse team, you’ll direct and check their work to ensure the bulk pick, route build, vehicle preparation and loading of all orders is completed, ready for the next day’s deliveries. You’ll plan work rotas to account for any absence, effectively resolve any issues that occur during the shift and take on any required work yourself to help support your team; at the same time, you’ll locate and confirm any out of stock incidents (identifying substitute items, where suitable) and challenge any picking or loading errors in an appropriate manner. For every shift, you’ll act with our Quality Control, HACCP and Health & Safety requirements in mind, completing and reviewing all documentation and reports, as required. As the communication link between the day shift, night shift and management team, you’ll complete clear handovers between shifts and notify the Day Shift of any problems or relevant information to ensure the safety, security and efficiency of the site at all times.
As a strong people manager, you have excellent communication skills (in written and spoken English), strong interpersonal skills (used to working with people of all backgrounds and levels) and sound experience of managing, motivating and directing a team. You’re always happy to jump in and support your team, but also know when to uphold professional boundaries or take action. You’re well organised and calm under pressure, happy working on your own initiative and confident in your own problem solving abilities. With significant experience working in a warehouse environment, you’ll have a good understanding of site health & safety regulations (including for manual handling equipment) and ideally hold a good knowledge of the delivery requirements for chilled, ambient and frozen produce. You’ll have good numeracy, literacy and IT abilities with a strong attention to detail. A full UK driving licence is a requirement of the role.
If you possess the experience, skills and attitude to make this role a success then we would love to hear from you.
Please apply below by 22nd March 2019.
