This vacancy is now closed Purchasing Manager - Oxford 32000 - 38000 - Senior Management Ref: 15 Date Posted: Monday 23 Jul 2018 ShareMore Inventory/Material/Purchasing Manager Job Type: Full Time Role Location: This role is based in Witney, Oxford Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum dependent on experience The Role: We are seeking an Inventory/Material/Purchasing Manager to lead and manage our Purchasing stock team. Responsible for all aspects of running a busy office day to day, you will manage the stock ordering process along with multi depot stock levels for our range of Chilled, Ambient and Frozen products. You will work closing with all warehouses on stock control accuracies and Perpetual Inventory processes and will ensure we have the correct level of stock coverage depending on seasonality or promotional activity. You will manage slow moving or obsolete stocks in a proactive manner with the sales team. You will review our processes for improvement on a continuous basis, proactively identifying cost, ordering and processes efficiencies and instigating best practice wherever possible. You will monitor supplier delivery issues and out of stock incidents to ensure a consistent and high quality service for our customers and Sales Reps, communicating with all relevant internal contacts as required. In addition, you will be responsible for planning and monitoring the materials and products used by the Company. You will develop strong and collaborative working relationships with supplier customer services and internal departments to grow opportunities for the business. You will develop and monitor a suite of KPIs to measure the department’s performance against and implementing improvements where possible. With responsibility for line managing the team’s Inventory/Material/Purchase Agents you will be confident leading and managing a team and have the ability to motivate effectively to promote excellent results. The postholder must have a full current UK driving license as there is a requirement to travel to Devon once every 3 to 4 weeks. The Person: Experience in the foodservice or FMCG sector you’ll have demonstrable knowledge of purchasing systems and working within a multi-depot purchasing role. Experience of Microsoft Dynamics and MRP systems being advantageous. You’re commercially savvy with excellent IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly. A strong manager with the ability to lead and coach a team along with the drive for best practice and efficiencies. The post holder will be required to travel to other depots and therefore must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have the flexibility to work in our various regional offices, as required.
