Quality Manager, Dart Sensors
Role: Full-time, permanent
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: c. £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
Dart Sensors are the world’s biggest supplier of alcohol fuel cell type sensors/sensor components, supplying 450,000 sensor components and 100,000 sensors in 2017. Our sensors are used in equipment in many countries including the USA, UK, France, Sweden, Australia, including police use, interlock, and consumer products.
We are dedicated to continually improving quality and exceeding customer expectations. Dart Sensors are currently registered with NQA for the design and manufacture of chemical sensors, the manufacture of reference standards and the supply of chemical sensors, catalysts, fuel cells, reference standards and associated components. Our quality system is compliant with BS EN ISO 9001:2015. We’re looking for a Quality Manager to uphold our quality standards.
We’re seeking an individual with experience in the Quality field to be responsible for the quality systems and processes within the Company and maintaining Dart Sensors’ ISO certification. The Quality Manager will establish external quality standards, inspect product quality, and implement and monitor quality initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and customer expectations. The successful candidate will use standard Quality tools including SPC and FMEA to improve manufacturing processes and increase efficiency where possible. They will also be responsible for implementing certified ISO Health and Safety and Environment systems to complement the Quality system and migrate existing in-house systems to third party providers to remove reliance on legacy software.
This role requires someone who is dedicated to continuous improvement. With thorough monitoring and acute attention to detail, the successful candidate will use their technical experience and judgement to manage risks, solve problems and deliver results.
With previous experience in a Quality role, you will have an in depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards. You will have excellent maths abilities, a working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods and educated to degree standard or have an equivalent level of relevant experience. You will need to be proficient in MS Office and experience with Visio, knowledge of programming in .NET and SQL would also be advantageous. Previous managerial experience is not essential, but this could be a good first manager role for the right candidate. The ability to speak Mandarin is desirable, but not essential.
