Job type: Part time, permanent

Working pattern: Minimum of 2 shifts/10 hours per week (weekday and weekend working) plus cover for colleagues during leave periods.  Increasing to full time hours during the school holidays

Salary: £5.72-£8.36 per hour (from 1st April)

The Role:

We’re seeking friendly and customer-focused individuals to join our shop floor teams. Delivering excellent standards of customer service, you will greet and assist customers and create an enjoyable shopping experience with a friendly and helpful attitude. In addition, you will be responsible for merchandising produce, stocking display units and carrying out stock rotation. You’ll be able to multi-task and prioritise your workload and will be responsible for stock taking, placing orders with suppliers, reconciling deliveries and ensuring the accurate processing of goods purchased across the whole store.  Taking orders from and to customers, washing dishes & cleaning are part of all job roles in the company.  Post Office transactions form part of this role.

You’ll also need to be available to work a range of shift patterns, including weekends and due to the sale of some age-restricted products, the successful candidate will need to be at least 16 years of age.

The Person:

With recent experience in a customer facing retail role, you’ll be a people person and team player with a desire to deliver excellent standards of customer service. Able to work calmly and professionally under pressure in a busy environment especially during periods of high customer volume to maintain the company’s quality standards.  You will have a great sense of humour and the ability to work flexibly and methodically. With a proactive approach to your work, you will have the ability to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels and will have a strong numeracy and IT skills.  A passion for food & drink will help you to talk to customers about our products.
